1. Double Wedding Ring
My brother is getting married next year so I'm guessing this will be a present for him and his bride.
2. Quilts of Valor
I don't have a pattern picked out for this but I really want to get into charity quilts and Quilts of Valor has a special spot in my heart since my husband is active duty Army. For more information on donating visit the Quilts of Valor website.
3. Carpenters Star
These quilts are always so gorgeous.
4. Irish Chain
This one I'm calling kind of done since I helped my daughter make one but I will probably make one myself as well.
(Didn't she do an awesome job?!)
5. Drunkards Path
This one is a little intimidating with its curves but I will conquer it!
6. Jacob's Ladder
I might end up doing this one greys and yellows or blues and greens haven't made up my mind yet.
7. Lone Star
These quilts are amazing and I'm kind of obsessed with stars in quilts...
This quilt is gigantic 96" x 96".
8. Hawaiian Quilt
My husband was stationed in Hawaii for his first duty station out of basic training. I'm not going to lie it wasn't my favorite place to live. Not a fan of lizards and hot weather and there was an excessive amount of both there. I do have some very fond memories though. It was where my older two daughters were born and I met a lot of awesome people there. We lived on the north shore of Oahu (Waialua) and it was beautiful. My sister has already called dibs on this quilt once its made.9. A quilt that is done completely by hand
This is most likely going to be a hexagon quilt and a long term project. I have done a small amount of hand quilting (on the log cabin quilt above) and need some more practice before I tackle a full quilt. Good thing the piecing will likely take me forever.
10. A quilt of my own design
This is already started. Using the lady of the lake quilt block the finished quilt will be around 60" x 60". I'm working out the math and testing the block size right now then I have to figure out what fabric will compliment the pattern the best. Be on the lookout for a series of posts about this one.

Your daughter did a great job! I started quilts with my girls last summer. I'm hoping they will work on them again this year! My niece was coming over too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Johanna! I'm so proud of her and can't believe how great she did. The quilt she made was way better, and much bigger, than my first attempt at quilting. It is really rewarding to be able to share this experience with her. I plan to teach my other two daughters as well but they are still a little too young.
